My other dream trip is Japan and visiting the Japanese Tea Garden in SF’s Golden Gate park remind me why. The tranquility of the space, the precision in everything, the politeness of the ladies running the gift shop, and obviously the beauty of the garden are all good reasons to visit this place.
On our way to LA we also visited Hearst Castle, a massive mansion once owned by the publishing magnate William Hearst. There are a lot of stories about the parties taking place here during the 20s and 30s and it’s easy to imagine why. The estate is over 500,000 square metres, it was the world’s largest private zoo, and guests travelled from LA by private train. Back to reality quick!
