In Bruges we stayed at the newly opened suites of the 1 star restaurant Sans Cravate which was our dinner destination. The rooms are part of the chef’s family house, they are named after wine grapes (ours was the Sauvignon Blanc) and the attention to detail is second to none. The same theme continues in the restaurant and the breakfast room, where the dinnerware are some of the most clever we’ve ever seen. After a short stroll around the town we went for dinner, which we limited to 3 courses after our long lunch and our forthcoming lunch the next day.
The following morning we drove to Netherlands’ Cadzand beach, to Sergio Herman’s Pure C . Sergio’s 3 star Oud Sluis is one of the best restaurants we’ve ever visited and after he decided to close it down last year, the 1 starred Pure C and The Jane in Antwerp are the only places where someone can taste his food creations. To be honest, our first choice was The Jane, but it has become one of the hardest reservations in Europe as it also combines a fantastic design. The Strandhotel looks a bit dated from the outside and the beach town itself cannot possibly impress a Greek :), but the restaurant turned to be excellent and we had a great time.
